Pathways to a 51²è¹İdegree
51²è¹İCollege is a partnership between UP Education and 51²è¹İUniversity of Technology that prepares students for success in higher education.Â
We specialise in providing seamless pathway and English language courses for students wishing to study an undergraduate or a postgraduate course at Swinburne, but may not meet the requirements for direct entry, or would prefer additional support and guidance transitioning into university.Â
Our students receive personalised support and learning from experienced educators who have expertise in pathway teaching that help them develop fundamental academic and English language skills for immediate and future success.Â
To date, more than 5,000 students have successfully completed their studies at 51²è¹İCollege and transitioned into a bachelor or master degree at Swinburne.Â
Our courses
Our pathway and English language courses are delivered on Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus and include:

UniLink diplomas
Courses that transition into a 51²è¹İbachelor degree – often directly into the second year.

51²è¹İFoundation Program
An alternative to Year 12 in Australia and a direct pathway into a UniLink diploma or bachelor degree.

Postgraduate Qualifying Program
A pathway into a master degree for international students who have not met direct entry requirements.

English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)
Courses for international students to learn English language skills for everyday life and university.

A course for international students to meet entry requirements for some UniLink diplomas.

51²è¹İCollege students have access to dedicated resources through the 51²è¹İCollege Student Hub. We provide additional academic support, opportunities to collaborate with student ambassadors one-on-one or in small groups, further development of English language skills and guidance on pathway options.
Beyond a study space, the hub is an inclusive community where students can connect with peers, engage with staff, feel safe and supported, and adjust to life in Melbourne.
